Hello again! We are now getting very excited because we get to come home for a week for Al (my brother) and Tori’s wedding, which will be mint. Dreamt about it last night. I have a speech to prepare. I will be starting with a slide show and appeal for the Jabulani Foundation, before moving on to the regular best man’s speech. Hopefully everyone will be drunk and feeling generous.
Coming home will also be an ace opportunity to reflect on what we have done in 3 months and think about the next 6.
We are now at ‘small community saturation’ some days and the fact that everyone lives, works and socialises together gets a bit old. Who’da thunkit. Great people, but one needs one’s space and one has to work harder and be more organised here to get it. Cliques form unintentionally and people (particularly the girls) get offended left, right and centre for seemingly no reason. I am out of a lot of it because i don’t work at the hospital.
Why is no-one writing comments on the blog anymore? Hmm?
Meanwhile in random discoveries news, i went on facebook just now and came across www.ed-athlete.com. Some of the guys who i used to humiliate daily with unstoppable, aggressive blows to the body and head, have clearly got over the beatings and put together what will be a very good product. The website is ace and i am well excited for them. Seems that when i went to London to get all soft, they kept training and fighting and got good. Don’t get me wrong, i could still paste them, but it would be closer now. And that was a lie. Well done chaps.

sorry, Pete,we've been so busy talking about you and Kim, about longing to see you both - as well as have a fab time @ Al and Tori's Big Day, that I haven't blogged you back. Hopefully, your wee reminder will bring in a load of the sort of insults and praise that you deserve. Coming from a small town ( and I don't mean London) you must be used to folk feeling a bit cramped?? No? Well, maybe it's a male thing.
ReplyDeleteDad says that, on patrol, they just got on with the job, made sure they had books, films, hobby stuff etc to do. Take up painting? Do an OU course? Write a book?
Or, I can shut up wiht the helpful suggetsions.
Having invested in a hat or two, I shall be able to lend you one to pass round at the wedding....
And Kim, I have such a lovely pair of shoes!
And reflecting on past and future seems incredibly wise - as well as sensible. Will you be able to be sensible at all next week?? I thought we were all going to be partying ad infinitum. Charlie ( bro) is bringing his special liver for the occasion...
Your wee niece is gloriously smiley and chatty, as are the rest of us up here in midge-ridden Helensburgh. Clothes heap up on spare room beds and we wonder if there will be room for all the clutter. Liz and Iain will be worse off in that they'll have to pack a gazillion things for The Wee Glorious One, and some stuff for them selves.
Now, cannot comment on the link you gave yet, but promise to try before the weekend.
Please give Kim a big hug from me and have one for y'self too.
Lots of love
Hey Pete and Kim! Sorry for the temporary blog-commentary silence. Big correlation with the fact I have just re-started work. Commute to Glasgow going fine so far... not sure if I will be saying that when it stays dark till 8am! Gareth and I can't wait to get out and visit you in the new year - better start saving up the pennies :o)
ReplyDeleteHave a fab time back in Blighty! Will you be up in Scotland at all whilst here?
Love to you both.
Ros
Apologies for the lack of communication. Hope this makes up for it:
ReplyDeleteBAWBAG! Looking forward to seeing you guys on Monday. As for the fighting stuff, the very fact that I could give you a pasting - big brother's rights - means that I'm sure all those guys could do the same. Wasn't there a four year old on the team?
Please be nice in your speech. Have I just set myself up? Oh dear.
PS : well, I did look at the fit guys and their web site. Most impressive, or do I mean intimidating or maybe that's just how I felt. I am sure they'd do training for older than they are people? I shall enrol dad. He's loving pilates.
